Federal Facilities Forum (FFF)
Many state environmental agencies have staff dedicated to overseeing pollution cleanup activities undertaken by various federal agencies at various federal facilities. In order to provide a forum for dialogue and information sharing between state and federal officials on this field of work, the ECOS Federal Facilities Forum (FFF) was established in April 2004.
Historically, and currently, the FFF has had a strong partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and ECOS members' participation in the FFF has largely involved a collaboration with DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM) officials to oversee and continue a dialogue regarding the activities these officials are responsible for performing, including decommissioning, cleaning up, and restoring various sites within the nuclear weapons complex.
The ECOS FFF is currently supported in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. Click here (and scroll down to the "Federal Facilities" section) to see a list of current FFF projects, and click here to view the FFF webpage and view FFF work products.
