ECOS President and Secretary of the Maryland Department of the Environment Ben Grumbles has published an article for the state agency’s blog, eMDE, about his experiences at the 26th annual Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland last month. Having participated as a member of the Climate Registry, Climate Action Reserve, and U.S. Climate Alliance delegations, Grumbles discusses how he and officials from a dozen other states promoted economy-wide deep carbonization, adaptation and resiliency, and investments in science and education.
Along with advocating for bipartisan environmental leadership in the U.S. and abroad, Grumbles used the summit as a platform for sharing a Maryland-based first-of-its-kind technology for carbon monitoring in forests.
