Over the next decade, Pennsylvania will undergo a substantial pipeline infrastructure build-out to transport gas and related byproducts from thousands of wells throughout the state. The unprecedented build-out has created an opportunity for the state to engage stakeholders in a collaborative process to achieve a smart pipeline infrastructure system.
The state’s Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force, appointed last year by Governor Tom Wolf, met January 20 to discuss its top priorities in advance of issuance of its final report next month. Representing a variety of stakeholders including government, industry, and education, the 48-member task force has been meeting monthly since July. The group provided a draft report for public comment in November, detailing a list of 184 recommendations submitted by 12 workgroups formed to study different aspects of pipeline development in the state.
