The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has announced that beginning July 1, owners of vehicles registered in Franklin County no longer need an emissions test to register their vehicles. The department worked for years with regulated facilities and citizens to reduce air emissions. As a result, there has been a steady decline in ground-level ozone concentrations in the St. Louis region, making it possible to pursue the removal of these mandated requirements.
