The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently awarded $410M to help improve community drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure, as well as lead service line inventories. DNR Director Dru Buntin said the department received approximately 1,000 applications requesting more than $2.4B in funding. The department scored and ranked the applicants based on financial need, engineering capability, and project necessity, and awarded projects that maximized the impact of the available funds across the state.
Funding was made available through the American Rescue Plan Act State Fiscal Recovery Funds as part of Governor Michael Parson’s FY 2023 budget proposal.
