U.S. EPA announced this week a $500 million loan from the State Infrastructure Financing Authority Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (SWIFIA) program to the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank. This is the first loan issued through the SWIFIA program that provides loans exclusively to state revolving fund programs.
New Jersey plans to use these loan funds along with some funding from the Department of Environmental Protection to implement critical water infrastructure projects in over 90 communities including 36 small communities and 39 disadvantaged communities.
