Move over, college basketball – the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has devised its own tournament bracket for state parks. This “Park Madness” concept may be of interest to other state environmental agencies that have parks in their portfolio.
Participants in the tournament are in the running to win a free weekend of camping.
Beginning March 17, state parks from each region of the state started competing to determine which park will reign as Park Madness Champion. On March 24, winners from each region faced off in a semi-final. And on April 4, the top vote-getting park from eastern Iowa comes up against the top western Iowa park in the Park Madness Final.
