The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is marking 50 years of environmental protection in the state with an interactive StoryMap telling the history of the agency.
The 1969 Wyoming Open Cut Land Reclamation Act eventually led to the 1973 creation of the Department of Environmental Quality and Environmental Quality Council. The Story Map features other historical documents related to the founding and expansion of the DEQ, important milestones, and the leadership of DEQ Directors from Robert Sundin through Todd Parfitt.
