The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) has begun its very own podcast, LDEQ On Air, to better inform the public about environmental issues affecting Louisiana and to explain LDEQ’s work.
LDEQ Press Secretary Greg Langley says he offered the idea of starting a podcast as a way of communicating with the public about controversial issues to promote greater understanding of LDEQ processes. LDEQ On Air’s inaugural episode on March 30 featured an interview with Dr. Chuck Carr Brown, who recently stepped down from his role as LDEQ Secretary after serving for seven years. In this episode, Dr. Brown spoke about the most significant accomplishments during his tenure, including improvements in ozone attainment and technology upgrades.
Future episodes will be released every third Thursday of the month and will feature other agency experts in permitting, enforcement, and assessment. LDEQ on Air is available for listening on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Podbean, as well as the LDEQ website.
