Earlier this month, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announced the 2022 winners of the Keep It Clean Kansas Outreach Challenge. KDHE partnered with the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education to run the contest where groups of students developed outreach products promoting recycling, composting, and waste reduction.
Four teachers at three schools were selected as winners. Winning projects included education of fellow students and a waste audit music video. Winners were awarded $1,000 for their classroom.
KDHE plans to announce a 2023 Challenge in August.
