The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hailing the Governor’s recent signing of the Framework for Freedom Budget, which directs nearly $3.8B toward protecting Florida’s natural resources for future generations. Some $694M is set aside for restoration efforts in the Everglades, with $796M for water quality improvements and $356M for coastal resiliency. The DEP also is embracing passage of Florida House Bill 1379, which provides $100M in recurring funds to the Florida Forever Program for expanding critical green spaces.
