The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) this week completed a series of forums to receive public input on meeting the state’s goals of creating vibrant economies and finding innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions.
Using funds from U.S. EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Program, the DEQ held five three-part sessions over two weeks in locations across the state. At each site, conversations centered on energy implementation and development; agriculture; and community, public service, and government. All sessions were open for in-person participation and live streamed over Zoom. In addition, the public was able to provide input via email. Information gathered through these forums will form the basis for planning and actions in the short and long term.
