The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) is requesting applications for approximately $13.7M in grant funding for Energy Infrastructure Grid Resilience projects, such as battery storage and fire prevention systems, that improve the reliability and resilience of the electric grid and help reduce utility customer energy outages. Grant funding is provided through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Resilience State & Tribal Formula Grants program.
MDEQ will give priority to projects that create jobs and help Montana’s electric system withstand extreme weather events and natural hazards including wildfires, flooding, and winter storms.
If your state is interested in a similar program, more information can be found on MDEQ’s Grid Resilience and Reliability Grants webpage.
