Recylpedia helps users identify whether an item is recyclable or not. Users are able to search for items or scroll through an exhaustive list, and clicking on each item reveals specific details of its proper disposal.
How was the Project Started?
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environemntal Control (DNREC) hired a vendor that had the software capability to create the tool. It was first hosted on an external website, but was then migrated to a state government page.

The project began in November 2020, and the tool was officially launched in April 2021.

DNREC partnered with a vendor who had the software, and it took a few months to create the topic images, descriptions, and solutions. Current resource needs include subscription costs and updates as needed.

DNREC will be launching an App version by Fall 2024.
