On March 27, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold an open house for the public to learn more about the Lysite mobile ambient air monitoring station (Lysite Mobile). The station began operations in January and will be in place for approximately a year. It consists of gaseous monitors for NOx, SO2, O3, CO, and methane/non-methane hydrocarbons; monitors for continuous PM10 and continuous PM2.5; a camera system; and meteorological instrumentation.
Lysite Mobile is one of three mobile gaseous monitoring stations in the state of Wyoming. The stations are self-contained shelters that can be moved to different locations in a relatively short timeframe to characterize air quality at various locations.
This site and others provide real-time air quality data for the DEQ, which are shared with the public here.
