In a recent Take Care of Texas blog post, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) highlights the importance of recycling during the holidays and gives tips on reducing giftwrap waste. The blog recommends avoiding waste in ways like wrapping gifts in reusable or recycled materials and saving wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, and ribbons to use again. According to the TCEQ, about 25 percent more waste is generated during the winter holidays than at other times of year.
