ECOS Cancels Spring Meeting in Asheville, Announces Next Steps 

Due to the public health threat and widespread travel restrictions presented by the novel coronavirus, we no longer have a path forward for holding the ECOS Spring Meeting in Asheville, North Carolina on March 30-April 1. The ECOS officers have determined that we are forced to cancel the gathering.

All is not lost, however. States will meet virtually on a date to be determined to address time-sensitive portions of the program, and we will invite other partners to join as needed. Other programming will be rolled over to the September 22-24, 2020 Fall Meeting in Park City, Utah.

For now, here’s what you need to know:

HOTEL

By way of followup to our announcement on March 13, the Omni Grove Park Inn has automatically canceled room reservations within the ECOS block for the Spring Meeting and will refund deposits in full. You should have received a cancellation email from Omni on March 16.

If you did not receive a cancellation email, or if you booked outside the block or via a third party, you still need to cancel your Omni accommodations before noon seven days prior to your scheduled check-in date. Call 800-438-5800 to do so, or to cancel any spa, dining, or golf reservations.

If you reserved at another hotel in Asheville, you are responsible for your own cancellation.

REGISTRATION

All Spring Meeting registrations will automatically be rolled over to the September 22-24 Fall Meeting in Park City, Utah. If you cannot attend the 2020 Fall Meeting or want to transfer your registration to another individual within your organization, please contact Paulina Lopez-Santos of ECOS by June 12.

AIRLINE RESERVATIONS

Attendees should cancel or change their own flight reservations.

If you had your heart set on Asheville, don’t despair. ECOS hopes to reschedule a future membership meeting there.
