Last week, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) launched a new web portal for its Louisiana Environmental Assessment Utility (LEAU) database.
LEAU data establishes water quality criteria or standards, assessment of conditions, and development of TMDLs. The new portal enables users to visualize and query data with a geospatial mapping tool, export to Excel, and access LEAU from a mobile device.
The project was funded by a U.S. EPA Exchange Network grant, and managed by LDEQ’s Water Quality Standards and Assessment Section (WQSAS) in coordination with the state’s Office of Technology Services and Louisiana State University’s Stephenson Disaster Management Institute.
