This week, the New Mexico Environment Department along with other state government agencies and private companies convened the New Mexico Infrastructure Finance Conference to support the planning and funding of infrastructure projects throughout the state. The conference provided local governments, legislators, federal and state agencies, tribes, private organizations, and businesses the opportunity to learn about financing and technical assistance to facilitate capital projects throughout the state.
The agenda was built to address an array of infrastructure opportunities from transportation to environment to human services. Environmentally focused sessions included a wastewater treatment plant tour and building facility resiliency through energy efficiency. Multiple sessions looked at helping local governments and others properly plan and find financial resources for their infrastructure projects.
