Five officials with the New Mexico Environment Department, including Acting Deputy Secretary Bruce Yurdin, will participate November 15-16 in the New Mexico Produced Water Conference on Policy, Regulations, & Economics to Support Total Resource Recovery. Oil and gas-produced water has figured prominently in the discussions of the ECOS Shale Gas Caucus.
The conference aims to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders to synthesize and improve the New Mexico and federal environmental regulatory frameworks. It is geared toward fostering economically viable opportunities to enhance fresh water conservation, produced water resource recovery, and produced water beneficial use.
