The Maryland Department of Environment this week commended Governor Larry Hogan on his proposed major funding to restore the Chesapeake Bay and support other environmental initiatives throughout the state. For the fifth year in a row, Hogan’s budget would support transfer tax programs, land conservation and recreation programs, Maryland Park Service operations, Bay Restoration Funding, and the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund.
The Hogan administration also proposes to double the tax credit for zero-emissions vehicles, continues to emphasize climate resiliency and preparedness, and funds MDE’s Energy-Water Infrastructure Program.
