This week, the DC Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) handed out seeds of native plants to help drive home the importance of creating a healthy habitat for native pollinators in the region during its “Bee the Change” observance. The bundle of seeds was specially designed to foster a resilient pollinator population. Employees from DOEE, the Department of Public Works, and the Mayor’s Office were stationed at Metro stops to hand out seeds and educate commuters on the importance of native flowers.
