On July 18, ECOS hosted a webinar to highlight best practices for managing solid waste on tribal and rural lands. A recording of the webinar is available here.
Presentations included:
- Santo Domingo Tribe’s efforts to reduce illegal dumping through digital storytelling
- Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s partnership with the City of North Bend to host an annual recycling event
- Choctaw Nation’s work to reduce waste by establishing two recycling centers and conducting community outreach
The webinar is the product of a research project to document innovations in rural waste management. ECOS is working under a cooperative agreement with U.S. EPA’s Office of International and Tribal Affairs.
