This week, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management held two free regulatory seminars for sand and gravel permittees, operators, and consultants. The trainings were aimed at educating interested parties about the regulations and requirements related to sand and gravel mining in the state. They were held in collaboration with U.S. EPA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Alabama Department of Labor.
States have found that such training boosts compliance on the part of the regulated community.
