On March 30, 2020, ECOS sent a letter to the leadership of the U.S. House and Senate Appropriations Committees, Subcommittees for Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. The letter touted the need for funding to support state environmental agencies whose budgets and workloads have been impacted by the public health crisis and response to the novel Coronavirus. The letter requested that additional funding be provided through an emergency stimulus bill, or else through the regular Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 appropriations process.
