Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas Council of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is managing to maintain public health and safety from a (social) distance. Much of the agency’s workforce moved to teleworking fairly quickly, but there were challenges to surmount. For environmental investigators, emergency response personnel, and others, the question became how staff could go out and perform essential functions to maintain public health and safety while also ensuring personal health and safety?
