The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has enhanced customer and employee health protections during vehicle emissions testing beyond those recommended by Centers for Disease Control for other essential services like grocery stores and drive throughs.
New safety practices include the use of masks and gloves by technicians, the washing of gloved hands with a chlorine and water solution between each vehicle test, and permission for customers to turn on their own vehicles before and after onboard diagnostic testing.
In addition, ADEQ is providing a No-Contact Limited Emissions Test for non-diesel vehicles valid for one year.
