The Air Quality Division of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, & Energy (EGLE) is using the StoryMaps format to tell the story of its investigation into elevated lead levels in Port Huron. The agency’s new StoryMap combines interactive maps, photos, and text to illustrate how EGLE used air monitors and inspections to identify, investigate, and reduce excess lead emissions from a brass foundry.
The StoryMap format is becoming an important tool for communicating the work of environmental protection agencies. To see other examples of StoryMaps in action or to add your own, visit this list of projects in the E-Enterprise Community Inventory Platform.
