Last week, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VA DEQ) provided informative tips for septic system owners via its Twitter account and other outlets. This was part of the sixth annual #SepticSmart campaign, led by U.S. EPA and held the third week of every September.
VA DEQ shared tips on inspecting and cleaning septic systems, keeping harsh materials out of sinks and toilets, and protecting reservoirs with plants and covers, among other topics.
