To celebrate America Recycles Day, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (DEP) set up an online Creative Reuse Showcase with photos of creative repurposing of materials by community members. Nevadans of all ages participated by sending in photos of items they created through the reuse of old items and diversion of waste. Among the creative submissions are a bedframe built from wooden pallets, wall art made from woven plastic bags, scrap metal artwork, and a coin purse made from a juice carton.
Nevada DEP used this showcase to help encourage the community to not just recycle materials but also to repurpose items.
