In support of the Michigan Clean Water Plan, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, & Energy (EGLE) will host a webinar on March 10 at 1-2 p.m. Eastern to brief water systems and municipalities on opportunities for water infrastructure funding. Announced in October 2020, the Michigan Clean Water Plan aligns $500 million across federal sources, state bonding authority, and state revenues into a comprehensive package to help local communities upgrade and rebuild their drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.
The plan addresses urgent infrastructure issues including undersized sewers; failing septic systems; unaffordable water rates; and lead, PFAS, and other contaminants that can affect drinking water. The plan’s new investments are in addition to the traditional low-interest loans that EGLE provides to Michigan’s communities annually through the State Revolving Loan Fund program.
The webinar will be recorded and posted on the EGLE webinars webpage. Register here.
