Hotel
Oglebay’s Green Initiatives and Recycling Program
Attendees should make their own room reservations at The Oglebay Resort and Conference Center at (877) 436-1797 option 2 and refer to the Environmental Council of the States Fall Meeting. The special ECOS group rates are available until August 25 or sellout of the room block, whichever is sooner. ECOS’ room rates are $119 (federal government per diem) for a limited number of traditional and intermediate rooms, $159 for deluxe rooms, and $199 for premium rooms, plus applicable taxes and fees in effect at the time of checkout. ECOS room nights include September 25, 26, and 27, with limited availability on the nights of September 24 and 28. Check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out time is 11 am.
Sarah Grace Longsworth of ECOS is keeping a list of registrants awaiting rooms; please contact her before cancelling any room nights (and specify if the federal per diem rate is needed) so that she can arrange a transfer to the next individual on the waiting list.
***A deposit equal to one night’s room and taxes will be due with each room reservation. Any reservation cancelled within 10 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeited deposit unless the cancellation is necessitated by an emergency.
Ground Transportation
The nearest airport is Pittsburgh International, located an hour (47 miles) from Oglebay Resort. To arrange ride-sharing of a rental car or shuttle, please send your Pittsburgh arrival and departure information to Sarah Grace Longsworth (slongsworth@ecos.org), who will distribute a spreadsheet to all respondents. ECOS attendees interested in shuttle transportation may reserve by phone (not online) with Airport Limousine. The service offers the following one-way rates before 9 p.m. exclusive of the recommended 15% gratuity: $160 shared among 4 passengers, $140 shared among 3 passengers, $125 shared among 2 passengers, and $98 for a single passenger. Wait times for the latter three categories can be up to an hour but typically are shorter.
Please note that Airport Limousine accommodates the reduced ride-sharing rate only if payment is made on a single credit card. However, the company does accept a mixed payment of credit card and cash.
