To improve regulatory compliance and environmental protection, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management held conferences this week on groundwater and underground storage tanks (USTs) for environmental consultants, contractors, and property owners.
At Alabama’s 20th Annual Groundwater Conference, attendees heard from state and federal leaders on issues ranging from machine learning predictions of groundwater quality to modeling an aquifer recharge potential map.
During the 18th Annual UST Conference, attendees learned about assessment and remediation of tanks. Sessions covered a variety of topics including regulations, compliance, permitting, reporting, and remediation optimization.
