Arizona Resumes Recycling Grants; Conducts Outreach

Last week, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality announced the return of its Recycling Grant Program. The program, funded by landfill disposal fees, offers political subdivisions of the state, private enterprises, local nonprofits, and tribal governments competitive grants. Over $1M is available in three categories – Waste Reduction Assistance, Waste Reduction Initiative Through Education, and Recycling Research & Development. The grants may assist with the creation and enhancement of recycling programs to support a circular economy and innovative recycling ideas. To assist interested parties in developing proposals, the state is holding two workshops in October. Applications are due December 1, 2023 with more information available here.
