The Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment’s Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has kicked off a project to update the Statewide Solid Waste Management Plan and create guidelines for tracking and reporting recycling data. DEQ will also provide education and outreach to make recycling reporting more consistent. The project is made possible by a Solid Waste Infrastructure & Recycling grant from U.S. EPA.
The DEQ will host stakeholder meetings across the state to better understand public perception on the state of solid waste management and has also launched an online survey. If your state is interested in following upcoming stakeholder meetings and reviewing the survey, see here.
