On September 12 and 13, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and New Mexico Environment Department will convene a public science forum and Four Corners Air Quality Group annual meeting in Durango, Colorado. The Four Corners Air Quality Group started more than a decade ago as a task force of states, tribes, and federal land managers meeting to discuss air quality issues in the Four Corners region in light of population growth, oil and gas production, and power production. The group has continued to meet regularly to provide updates and discuss a wide range of air quality-related topics.
The public science forum, the second held by the group, will discuss methane and methane-related issues in the region. It will include speakers from NOAA, NASA, and the Western Regional Air Partnership. The annual meeting will cover topics from ozone policy issues to monitoring trends analysis.
