This week, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) held its 17th annual Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) event recognizing companies and organizations for exceeding regulatory requirements and committing to environmentally sustainable practices. Since 2000, the ELP has awarded numerous organizations Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards and one organization the annual 24-Karat Gold Award, which this year went to Alpine Bank for its help subsidizing energy bills for low-income families through a community solar initiative. An additional 169 organizations were recognized.
