On November 1, the DC Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) launched the nation’s first Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) all-battery recycling program to recycle household batteries free of charge. DOEE’s partnership with Call2Recycle will provide drop-off locations for both single-use and rechargeable household batteries in compliance with DC’s Battery Stewardship Law.
DC-based organizations can apply to serve as battery collection sites, also at no cost.
