Earlier this month, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that the state now meets all of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards statewide.
The milestone is the culmination of several years of collaborative efforts between DEP, U.S. EPA , and industry to reduce emissions and improve air quality for Florida’s citizens. According to DEP, these efforts have not only resulted in Florida having the cleanest air on record, but to it being the most populous state in the United States to meet the federal standards.
