In July, Governors of five Great Lakes states sent a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives in support of the PFAS Action Act and uniform national policy. Specifically, they called out key areas of the bill as critical, including designations under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, & Liability Act, measures under the Toxic Substances Control Act, and requirements to develop drinking water, air, and water quality standards for certain PFAS.
The following states signed onto the letter: Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
