On November 6, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency announced a $5M funding opportunity for public housing authorities, local governments, and nonprofits that operate housing assistance programs in areas of environmental justice concern. The Energy Efficiency Trust Fund Grant Program will allow for energy-efficiency upgrades to single family homes and residential duplexes, including projects such as window replacement, HVAC retrofits, lighting upgrades, and thermostat installation.
Eligibility hinges on the completion of an energy-efficiency assessment within the last five years, and applicants may be awarded $25,000 to $500,000, subject to a match requirement. To learn more about the grant opportunity, see here.
