The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection will host its free annual Brownfields for Bankers Workshop next month. As developers increasingly recognize the value of revitalizing brownfields, this workshop will provide a timely introduction to brownfield redevelopment and an opportunity for bankers, developers, and development agency officials to pose questions about this type of investment.
Topics to be covered include federal environmental liability and exemptions for lenders and bona fide prospective purchasers, Kentucky’s new brownfield law that reduces uncertainty in the redevelopment process, incentives available to assist in brownfield redevelopment, and a case study of how a community eyesore has been transformed into a thriving business and asset to the neighborhood.
If you are interested in hosting a similar workshop in your state, contact Bonnie Blankenship via email or at (513) 455-4281.
