This week, ECOS President Ben Grumbles attended the kickoff meeting of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Climate Challenge representing Maryland, the only state to join the Challenge to date. The Better Climate Challenge is a national public-private partnership of organizations that have set goals to achieve at least a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the next decade.
Partner organizations will share solutions and leverage the technical expertise of DOE and others. More than 90 partners have joined the Challenge, including major corporations and local governments. The Challenge builds on a decade of experience under the Better Buildings Initiative, through which nearly a thousand organizations have shared innovative approaches and strategies for accelerating the adoption of energy-efficient technologies and practices.
