In late December, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation providing $23.2 million to address PFAS at various sites throughout the state. Public Act 201 of 2017 will support new positions at Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to gather and analyze well water samples, help with response activities, and provide assistance to local public health departments.
This funding supports the Governor’s Executive Directive 2017-4 that established a Michigan PFAS Response Action Team to address PFAS.
