On March 7-9, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will co-sponsor the “Water Infrastructure Conference: A National Conversation in Flint,” a three-day event devoted to water infrastructure issues, share lessons learned from the City of Flint and other cities nationwide, and present new technologies or innovations to professionals involved in any facet of aging water works management or administration.
Conference highlights will include remarks from Flint Mayor Karen Weaver and Governor Rick Snyder; panel discussions about asset management and environmental justice; technical presentations delivered by national experts on topics related to system design and operation, technology and innovation, non-revenue water, data and analytics, community engagement, and public health; and an exhibitor area. There will also be a free workshop on the basics of water infrastructure for the general public.
