A new Minnesota Pollution Control Agency report outlines strategies to protect and improve the Root River Watershed in Southeast Minnesota. The report recognizes the efforts of the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources One Watershed in the One Plan comprehensive watershed management program. It also summarizes water quality data, highlights projects by state and local staff, and updates existing tools that will help Root River Watershed meet its water quality goals.
There are 80 major watersheds in Minnesota, each with a plan for restoration and protection that is updated every 10 years.
