The Mississippi Governor’s Delta Sustainable Water Resources Task Force this month will host an Irrigation and Water Conservation summit aimed at educating participants on ways to increase profit margins while conserving irrigation water supplies.
The Task Force, which includes staff of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Yazoo Mississippi Delta Joint Water Management District, Delta Council, Delta F.A.R.M., Mississippi Farm Bureau, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service, was formed to develop and implement programs that will protect water resources vital for agriculture, fisheries, and wildlife in the Mississippi Delta.
