The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Geological Survey Division recently released a new ArcGIS application to easily locate well logs, which contain detailed construction information about wells (e.g., depth, water level) and the subsurface geology at a well site. This includes information on stratigraphy (named rock layers), lithology (rock type), mineralogy, and groundwater.

The app contains numerous tools to search for well logs and addresses of well sites across the state, and will help the department understand more about wells as they work with contractors and other stakeholders.
