Last week, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) posted a video on its efforts to restore water quality in Ninemile Creek. The video is one of a set the DEQ has shared on its YouTube channel to highlight the department’s work. In addition to showing how the state works to restore a watershed, this new video discusses how the department is using Clean Water Act 319 funds in partnership with Trout Unlimited and the U.S. Forest Service to complete the work.
Other videos posted this year highlight a wide range of DEQ activities including a nuisance algae study, a volunteer water quality monitoring program, an air monitoring site, and a recycling center.
Through these and other brief videos on its website, DEQ is educating the public on its work, which can build support for the department.
