New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has issued a series of new executive orders to accelerate the state’s transition to clean energy and commitment to climate action. The orders aim to bolster New Jersey’s climate adaptation and mitigation efforts through an accelerated target of 100% clean energy by 2035, ambitious goals for electrification of the state’s building sector, and collaborative planning for the future of the State’s natural gas utilities.
The state will also initiate the process to adopt California’s Advanced Clean Cars II regulations in New Jersey and ensure 100% of new cars sold in 2035 are zero-emission vehicles.
